Tabletop Barnsley is a brand-new event celebrating the hobby of tabletop gaming.

You will get the opportunity to try out all types of tabletop gaming and find out about currently active local tabletop gaming groups. Our theatre bar will be serving refreshments throughout. 

Join us on Saturday 14 June from 10am to 4pm – Entry is free.

Boardgame Social

Main Theatre

Try out strategic board gaming and explore different mechanics, including card drafting, engine building, tile placement and worker placement, among many others.

Individuals and groups are invited to bring along their favourite boardgame and open your table up for others to play with you.

Imagination Gaming's Family Zone

Main Theatre

Imagination Gaming is an educational board games company that venture into schools all over the UK. Imagination Gaming will be running a full day of their very best board games.

Whether you’re coming with family, alone or a big group of friends, they have games for everyone. From Stomp The Plank to Turing Tumble, Bang to Little Cooperation. Come along and give them a go.

RPG Zine Stalls

Main Theatre

A ‘zine’, or hand-made magazine, can be collaged, Xeroxed, photocopied, or produced digitally and printed in small quantities.

Our selection of stalls highlight designers from the North producing solo and multiplayer RPG games and writers interested in RPG fandom. 

10am to 4pm 

Pokemon Training with Barnsley Models & Games

Studio Theatre

Drop in and learn to play the game with certified Pokemon League trainer Karl and find out about local hobby leagues. For ages 7+. 

Bring your own decks and play with your friends at our tables.

Star Wars Legion with House of Gaming

Meeting Room One

Join the Galactic Civil War as the commander of an army of troopers, as local collective House of Gaming guide newcomers through the infantry-based tabletop wargame, Star Wars Legion. This will be a full-length game, where new-comers can drop in and out throughout the day, whenever they like. For ages 12+.

An Absolute Beginners Guide to Dungeons & Dragons

The Old Art School

Join Dungeon Master Rebecca as she guides you through your very first Dungeons & Dragons adventure.  

11am to 12pm. For ages 11 – 17.  A quick-fire adventure, in which you will engage with fantasy role playing, using pre-built characters. 10 places only  

1.30pm to 3pm. For ages 18+. In this is a more in-depth role-playing experience, you’ll build your own characters and take part in a one-shot campaign. Due to the nature of game play, this session me overrun. 15 places only. 

Advance booking for both sessions is essential!

Booking will open Monday 12 May. 

Space Marine Design Workshops

 Community Space

10:30am to 12pm. For ages 7 – 11.  

Artist Sally Hunter Philburn will help you design your own Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine and chapter banner. Build and take home your own miniature figure. 10 places only. 

1:30pm to 3pm. For ages 12 – 16.  

Artist Sally Hunter Philburn will guide you as you build and paint your own Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine miniatures, that you can take home and keep. 10 places only.  

All materials will be provided. Advance booking is essential for both workshops!

Booking will open Monday 12 May. 

Boardgame Swap Meet

We spend the last hour of the event with a chance to meet other gamers and trade your pre-loved boardgames with other. No need to book, just turn up.
