Help shape our future. As well as reconnecting with our past, Civic150 is also an opportunity to reflect on what we do today and look ahead to what the future might hold.
We’d really appreciate you taking five minutes to complete this short questionnaire. Your experiences, memories and reflections will help us learn, develop and shape the future of Barnsley Civic as we celebrate this important milestone.
Whether you remember your first trip to the theatre, taking part in a pantomime or school show, visiting the Public Library, dancing at a gig or playing at the Folk Club, your memories are part of its story.
We’re looking for programmes, tickets, photographs, posters, newspaper cuttings and memorabilia, as well as the memories that bring them to life.
Join us at our informal CIVIC150 drop-in, held on the last Friday of every month, 10am–12pm. Bring along your memories and mementos, meet the team, share your memories and help us build a community archive celebrating nearly 150 years of Barnsley Civic.
The story so far is explored as part of an evolving exhibition on display in the community space reception area on Eldon Street featuring a timeline of images, original plans, blueprints, and posters.
Grab a ‘What’s Your Civic Story?’ postcard and tell us yours!
