TOBY FOSTER – MC
Toby Foster has been making people laugh for more than 30 years, both on stage and on the radio.
Best known to many as Les from the legendary Phoenix Nights, Toby is also an award-winning broadcaster and one of the most experienced comedy club comperes in the country.
He founded The Last Laugh Comedy Club in Sheffield in 1994 and has spent the years since working alongside just about every major name in British stand-up, often long before they became household names.
Barnsley born and bred, Toby is back on home territory to hold the whole thing together – talking to the audience, keeping the acts in order and almost certainly getting himself into trouble somewhere along the way.
JACK CARROLL
Jack Carroll became a national name when he appeared on Britain’s Got Talent at just 14 years old, eventually finishing as runner-up in the 2013 final.
But Jack was never going to be just a TV talent-show story. He has gone on to build a proper career as a stand-up comedian, writer and actor, earning a reputation for smart writing, brilliant timing and a wonderfully dry take on the world.
His television appearances include Live at the Apollo, while his acting work has included roles in Coronation Street and the feature film Eaten by Lions.
Now an established performer on the UK comedy circuit, Jack combines razor-sharp jokes with the confidence of someone who has effectively spent half his life making audiences laugh.
JENNY HART
Jenny Hart is rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about acts on the UK comedy circuit.
A British Comedian of the Year finalist and winner of Best Alternative Act at the North West Comedy Awards in both 2023 and 2024, Jenny mixes fearless stand-up, musical comedy and quick-witted crowd work.
Armed with a guitar and very few boundaries, her comedy is dark, mischievous, gloriously inappropriate and definitely not designed for the easily offended.
Originally from Woking and now a regular on professional comedy bills around the country, Jenny has performed at major comedy clubs including The Comedy Store and has taken her comedy to audiences across Europe, Australia and the USA.
Chortle’s Steve Bennett described her as “a powerhouse surely poised to storm the circuit.”
Expect songs. Expect great jokes. Do not necessarily expect good taste.
MATT RICHARDSON
Headlining the night is the brilliant Matt Richardson.
Matt started performing stand-up at just 18 and quickly became one of the youngest comedians working professionally on the UK circuit.
His big television break came when he was chosen to co-host The Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack, introducing him to millions of viewers. Since then he has become a familiar face across British television with appearances on shows including Celebrity Juice, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and countless comedy and entertainment programmes.
But live comedy is where Matt started and where he is at his best.
Fast, energetic, cheeky and relentlessly funny, he has the knack of making a big room feel like a conversation with your funniest mate in the pub – albeit a mate who has considerably better jokes.
He’s a cracking live comic and the perfect man to close another big Last Laugh night in Barnsley.
