Barnsley Young Writers’ London Trip – Wednesday 8 October
Barnsley Civic has worked closely with Barnsley born, British Chinese creative producer/dancer/choreographer Tala Lee Turton over the last five years. As a graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia, Tala is currently putting the finishing touches to her new production PIA, which has been co-commissioned by Barnsley Civic and Barbican Centre London.
Tala has invited Barnsley Young Writers members to visit her and her dance theatre company in London on Wednesday 7th October to see the rehearsals for the new production PIA.
Travel will be from Barnsley will likely be from around 7:30am, getting back into Barnsley around 10pm. Travel and lunch will be paid for by Tala's company, with food on the way being paid for by the Civic. We have just 8 places available.
Jason White, our Community Engagement Manager and one other member of staff will also be attendance. Both are Enhanced DBS checked.
To help Tala plan the day, we aim to get confirmed attendances and permissions from parents where needed now, and then as soon as Autumn Term starts in September, collect authorised absences from schools and college.

either ‘Parent/Guardian’ if you are book on behalf of your child and use the adult's name when booking,
or select ‘18+’ if you aged 18 or older and are booking for yourself.
