Barnsley Civic is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager.

You will work closely with the CEO & Artistic Director and the rest of Senior Leadership Team to deliver our strategic vision, grow revenue through commercial hires and F&B operations, and diversify income streams.

This pivotal role involves overseeing governance, HR, financial management, policy development, and the development of data & evaluation frameworks for all operational areas.

You’ll also play a key role alongside the CEO & AD managing in-house productions, overseeing contracts, and ensuring we deliver on key Arts Council England investment principles.

Our Front of House Assistants act as the first point of contact for all customers and visitors to our building and work across a range of events including performances, weddings, conferences and award ceremonies. It’s a varied role that includes stewarding, bar and box office cover.

Due to our programming schedule, this is a casual position, meaning the number of hours you could work will fluctuate throughout the month. However we like to work with our casual staff ensuring flexibility to individual needs.

Many members of our permanent staff team started off as Front of House Assistants, so it’s a great entry into working in the arts field if that’s something you are interested in!
