We’re thrilled to welcome John Sergeant, one of Britain’s most popular and respected broadcasters and authors, for a very special evening of conversation, entertainment and the chance to meet John after the show on November 26th.
With an award-winning career in broadcasting, John has interviewed some of the biggest names in British public life, including Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher, John Major, and Tony Blair. His wit, warmth, and sharp insight have made him a household name.
In recent years, John has returned to his first love: light entertainment. Viewers will recognise him from The One Show, Have I Got News For You, QI, Room 101 and The News Quiz, not to mention his unforgettable turn on Strictly Come Dancing. Despite regularly finding himself at the bottom of the leaderboard, his charm and humour won over the public week after week, until he bowed out memorably, saying:
“The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me, that would be a joke too far.”
His more recent television work includes acclaimed documentaries such as John Sergeant’s Tourist Trail, Tracks of Empire (exploring India’s railways), and Britain’s First Photo Album, celebrating the pioneering photographer Francis Frith.
