As part of this year’s Art Abart Tarn Festival, which runs from 1–10 August, Barnsley Civic is presents a very special event featuring one of the town’s brightest stars. On Saturday 10 August at 4pm, audiences are invited to an exclusive In Conversation event with Emily-Mae Walker, the acclaimed West End actress currently dazzling London as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton.

Born and raised in Barnsley and a former student of Darton High School, Emily-Mae will return home to share her inspiring journey from local stages to the bright lights of the West End. She will be interviewed live on stage by Dr Dan Winder, CEO of Barnsley Civic, alongside the Young Civilians, the theatre’s passionate group of young festival programmers.

Emily-Mae’s impressive theatre career spans some of the biggest productions in British theatre. Her credits include:

This one-off event offers audiences a rare opportunity to hear firsthand about Emily-Mae’s experiences, challenges, and triumphs as she carved her path from Barnsley to Broadway’s British counterpart.
