SIP & SKETCH: WITH EMILY RYALLS
Join us for a relaxed and informal evening of painting, drinks and music in our gallery with our artist Emily Ryalls.
In this workshop, you’ll hand-paint a selection of original darkroom prints of tulips. Guided by Emily, you’ll learn some simple techniques and by the end, you’ll be creating striking and seasonal artwork to take home with you.
All materials will be provided, and all skill levels are welcome to attend. The full bar service will be available, and the first drink is on us!
More about Emily Ryalls
Wakefield based artist Emily Ryalls, works in the spaces between photography, performance, and sculpture. Her practice hosts consciousness-raising spaces for women to gather and explore embodied knowledge, largely informed by her feminist postgraduate research at York's Centre for Women's Studies. In her work, Ryalls celebrates women as urban goddesses, sharing skills, concepts, and hopes for the future. She has exhibited widely – at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Art House, London Art Fair’s Photo50, Format International Photography Festival.
Ryalls also designed and now manages the darkroom at The Art House. You can expect to see her working with community groups and artists on a number of creative projects celebrating the magic of analogue photographic processes.
