Presented for the first time at Barnsley Civic by Music in the Round with Ensemble 360 & actor Paul Hawkyard:
Janáček’s celebrated string quartet ‘Intimate Letters’ is brought to life with readings of the Czech composer’s candid and personal writing performed by actor Paul Hawkyard (King Minos, Monster in the Maze, 2024) and interspersed between the music. This captivating work is followed by a Schubert masterpiece, ‘Death and the Maiden’.
Music in the Round regularly presentsfriendly and welcoming performances of classical music at Barnsley’s Emmanuel Church. The concerts feature world-class artists from Ensemble 360 who perform music written specially for small combinations of strings, wind and piano.
