Free Sunday Ceilidh
Barnsley Folk Festival ends with a free afternoon ceilidh led by Chris McShane and The Penistone Folk Ensemble, with a guest spot by Barnsley's U3A Ceilidh Group.
This ceilidh will be the perfect introduction for anyone who hasn't attended a ceilidh dance before. Penistone Folk Ensemble are a concert and ceilidh band, with years of experience. Caller Chris McShane will explain and help the dancers ‘walk through’ each dance before the music is added, and remind them of what comes next during the dance when necessary.
This ceilidh will take place in the Civic's main theatre, so there'll be lots of room to get your knees up.
The theatre bar will be open throughout, serving alcohol, soft drinks and hot beverages.
Free entry. Suitable for all ages.
