Ignition – Artist Development programme

This year we will offer several artists under 30 the opportunity to take part in a professional development programme. We understand the importance of skill development and mentorship in nurturing emerging talent. That is why we are committed to development opportunities tailored to the unique needs of young artists in order to provide practical guidance but also instil confidence and empower artists to navigate the complexities of the creative industry.

Each successful applicant to our Artist Development Programme, will be paired with practice relevant, established artists. Both will be paid to attend three two hours workshops which will explore the areas relevant to establishing a career in the arts, including finding funding, writing grant applications, networking, how to make your work community relevant and how to find the work.

We will be offering 5 places on the mentorship programme in the following areas:

Photography (supported by Photoworks)
We are interested to hear from emerging artists working in any area of photography, including art photography, fashion, photojournalism, street photography, documentary, landscape and nature.

Visual Arts
We are interested in hearing from emerging artists working across any of the visual arts including painting, sculpture, drawing, illustration, printmaking, design, craft, filmmaking, video, ceramics and textiles.

Performing Arts
We are interested in hearing from emerging artists working theatre, performance, dance, choreography, music, playwrighting, circus, street theatre, spoken word and poetry.

Community Arts x 2
