DRY HUMOUR: A STAND-UP SHOW FOR TEENS AND FAMILIES
2 August 2025
For ages 14+. £10 / Under 18s £5
Dry Humour is a new alcohol-free, stand-up comedy night at Barnsley Civic, with an earlier finish, to make it more accessible for young people. The line-up features;
MC: Tony Cowards
Hosting the night is the razor-sharp Tony Cowards, known for his rapid-fire one-liners and brilliantly clean, clever comedy. A seasoned compère and a favourite on the UK circuit, Tony keeps the laughs coming with his trademark mix of wordplay, wit, and warmth.
Opening Act: Aaron Jay
Kicking things off is Aaron Jay, an energetic and engaging comic whose material covers school life, awkward family moments, and the weird world of growing up – all delivered with charm and big laughs that land with teens and adults alike.
Headline Act: Mike Capozzola
Headlining the night is international stand-up Mike Capozzola, whose smart, offbeat and fast-paced comedy is packed with sharp observations and quirky insight. Mike brings a fresh and intelligent voice to the stage, perfect for a younger audience that’s ready for something beyond “kids’ comedy.”
The earlier finish doesn’t mean this is comedy for kids – it’s a proper stand-up night with professional comics who know how to pitch it just right for a 14+ crowd. Ideal for young comedy fans and families looking for a great night out together, or those wanting a night out that doesn’t rely upon a boozy environment.
