CROSS THE SKY THEATRE COMPANY SCRATCH

Cross the Sky is an award-winning theatre company for autistic and learning-disabled adults based at Barnsley Civic.
At this special Learning Disability Week sharing event, the company will share new and old songs, including a preview of songs from their forthcoming production The District; an original piece of musical theatre about a dystopian future with no music. They’ll also take questions from the audience and share insights into how they produce their unique work.
A theatre scratch event is a chance for artists to share works-in-progress. This event is suitable for students or professional with an interest in disability theatre, making theatre accessible or creating to art with autistic and learning-disabled participants.
Learning Disability Week in Barnsley is celebrated annually, and this year, it will run from June 17th to 23rd, 2024. The week is a time to raise awareness about learning disabilities and celebrate the achievements of people with learning disabilities, as well as challenge barriers they face.Barnsley Council, along with other local organizations, will be working together to promote the week and offer various events and activities.
