Life in a Northern Town
In partnership with Northern Broadsides, Blackpool Grand, and Customs House South Shields, this project supports the creativity of emerging young playwrights across the North. Our group of talented writers aged 14–19 met online and in person to participate in free creative writing workshops and masterclasses led by professional playwrights and dramaturgs (experts in the study of plays, musicals, or operas) to develop their own short plays.
Saturday 22nd February, they spend the day with professional actors, taking part in readthroughs and workshopping their plays. The end of the day will see them have their short plays performed in scratch style, script in hand.
